Mench Real Estate Capital has decades of experience helping owners of commercial real estate secure financing for their properties. We have relationships with a wide variety of lenders and we stay up-to-date on their lending programs. Mench Real Estate Capital will find you the best loan terms from dependable lenders and will work shoulder-to-shoulder with you until the loan closes.

Types of lenders

Mench Real Estate Capital has relationships with lenders who primarily provide non-recourse loans (no personal guarantees). Each lender has a unique lending platform that we match with your capital needs. We have decades-long relationships with life insurance companies, non-recourse bridge lenders, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, CMBS, credit tenant lenders, banks and credit unions.

Property Types

Mench Real Estate Capital can originate a loan for nearly any type of income producing property. The most common property types include: multi-family, industrial, office, retail, hotels, manufactured housing and self storage. Quality of assets can range from Class "A" to Class "C". Our network of capital providers can go anywhere in the United States.

Types of loans

Mench Real Estate Capital can source many different types of non-recourse loans. For transitional properties, non-recourse bridge loans are available with 1-3 year terms and floating rates. For stabilized properties, permanent loans are available with 5-25 year terms and fixed rates. Non-recourse construction financing is also available.

Early on, Steve knew that real estate was the industry for him. When he was 19 years old he sold residential real estate, but quickly realized that commercial real estate was better aligned with his interests in finance and economics. During his undergraduate studies, he worked in retail leasing and property management.

After earning a BS in Finance, a MS in Real Estate and a JD with concentrations in real estate, Steve started his career in commercial real estate lending. Steve took a position with The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company originating large loans and equity investments.

Steve decided to leave the corporate world and take one step closer to working for himself. He joined a small boutique mortgage banking firm where he was a correspondent for many life insurance companies including Allstate, State Farm, One America, Assurant, Teacher's Annuity, John Hancock, AIG, Prudential, Riversource, Ohio National, ING, UNUM, PPM and Principal. Unfortunately, the small firm he joined was purchased by a large bank and Steve found himself back in the corporate world.

Steve took the final step in his entrepreneurial journey and formed Mench Real Estate Capital in 2011. Soon after forming Mench Real Estate Capital, Steve founded Commercial Real Estate Capital Advisors (CRECA). CRECA brought all the advantages of a national firm, but maintained each member's independence. Steve is very active in the commercial real estate industry. He values networking and staying up-to-date with changes in the industry and regularly attends industry events across the country.

Fulfilling another life-long goal, Steve relocated to the Pacific Northwest with his family and loyal labradoodle. He and his family enjoy mountain biking, camping, hiking and exploring all that the west coast has to offer.
